SPORTS AND PASTIMES.
[BY INVICTUS.]
A MEETING—far from well-attended—of the Committee of the Chess Club, was held on Friday night last. After a long discussion, they decided that Mr. Crowley should play Mr. Martin two games. The former will not consent to such an arrangement, as he considers that Mr. Martin, by refusing to play till the last day of the tournament, was not entitled to continue. So that, as the position now stands, Mr. Martin will win the Handicap. He will also probably take the Championship. |
