The Universities’ match was played on Friday at the British Chess Club, which Oxford won, the score being 4 to 3. Messrs. Lawton, Spencer-Churchill, and Jenkins distinguished themselves on the side of the victors, and Mr. Quin valiantly upheld the cause of Cambridge. Full score:—
