CAMBS. CHESS ASSOCIATION.
The annual meeting of the Cambs. Chess Association took place at 17, Trinity Street, on Wednesday night. Mr. F. Deighton presided, and there were present:—Messrs. W. H. Gunston, E. A. Crowley, C. Kent and E. Peters, hon. Sec. The report showed that in the Southern Counties’ Championship the match with Norfolk was won by Norfolk by one board, and the match with Northants, produced the same result. In the latter match one of the Cambs. Players was unable to attend, and the game was given to Northants, without a contest. The report of the treasurer (Mr. J. A. Sturton) showed a small balance in hand. The following officers were elected:—President, Mr. F. Deighton: acting vice-presidents, Messrs. W. H. Gunston and E. H. Church; treasurer, Mr. J. A. Sturton; hon. Sec., Mr. E. Peters. |
