REMARKABLE LIBEL ACTION.
There was this week tried before Mr. Justice Scrutton in the Court of King’s Bench an action in which Mr. George Cecil Jones, consulting chemist, of Great Tower-street, K.C., grandson of the late Mr. George Jones, of Cirencester, sued the proprietors, editor, and printers of the Looking Glass, a weekly journal, for libel in accusing him of associations with a man named Aleister Crowley. The case was mixed up with reference to a society called the Rosicrucian Order, of which plaintiff denied that he was a member. After two days’ hearing the jury returned a verdict for the defendants. |
