How a Bathurst Girl Missed the Titanic Disaster.
Miss Leila Waddell, the well known violiniste, narrowly escaped being a passenger aboard the ill-fated Titanic. In the course of a letter received by her father, Mr. David Waddell, of Stewart-street, Bathurst, Miss Waddell states that she had intended to proceed to America, where she had secured a six months' engagement, by the Titanic, but had just missed that vessel, and had booked her passage by the Mauretania instead. |
