MUSIC AND DRAMA.

Ex-Sydney musical people who continue to remain well placed in the lucrative variety theatre world are Miss Violet Mount, Miss Emily Marks (now Mrs. Presburg), and Miss Leila Waddell.

Miss Leila Waddell, seizing upon the London craze of the moment, has organised and leads a company of seven lady violinists who, as the "Ragtime Gipsy Girls," appear in picturesque costume, and play with great effect a succession of popular "ragtime" airs, with variations by way of dances, groupings, etc. This also has caught on, and the Sydney violinist is assured of touring engagements with her little company throughout England and the Continent to Russia.
