The English Review.

The English Review for October reached us rather late. Perhaps the gem of it is Mr. R.B. Cunninghame Graham’s prose pastoral. It is a very deep and delicate study of an old-fashioned English farmer. Mr. Austin Harrison writes powerfully on “The Kaiser’s World War,” and there are able and interesting articles by Mr. L. March Phillipps, Mr. Edward Thomas, Mr. Arthur Ransome, Mr. E.Y. Lucas, and Mr. E.S.P. Haynes,—the latter, however, on “Christianity” not being all it might be. There are also some stanzas by a poet who publishes too seldom—Mr. Aleister Crowley.
