TO-DAY'S NEWS.
The assistant Commissioner of New Scotland Yard, with Inspector Curry and a number of detectives, late on Monday night raided the offices of the mystical society known as the M.M.M. and arrested Mrs. Mary Davies, the psychist, who has been carrying on business opposite F. L. Rawson’s Regent-street Prayer-Shop for some years. When the police broke into the place mystical rites were going on, and Mrs. Davies was seated on a throne in the temple with about a dozen people grouped round her. One of the men present on the entry of the police was seized with a fit at the shock. Mrs. Davies said he was her husband and that he suffered from attacks of syncope. The police surgeon was sent for and he attended Mr. Davies for about an hour before he was brought round. The names and addresses of all the people present were taken and Mrs. Davies was removed to Vine-street Police Station. |
