COURT DISMISSES ASSAULT COMPLAINT.
Maneck Anklesaria, a Hindu, failed to get a conviction before Judge William M. Heston today, against Homie R. Colombo, another Hindu, whom he charged with assault and battery.
Judge Heston ruled it was simply “the word of one man against another,” and dismissed the case. Anklesaria charged he was assaulted by Colombo, Monday night in Grand Circus Park, following a meeting of the Friends of India, which both attended, in the Hotel Tuller. He said Colombo stole $20 from him in 1921.
Recently Anklesaria brought Albert W. Ryerson, alleged head of the O.T.O. love cult, into court, on a similar warrant. Ryerson paid a $10 fine. |
