AS I SEE IT.

Epstein's Model-Cook.

Cooks Become Models.

Mme. Ustinov, the Russian artist, who paints under the name of Nadia Benois, is the fortunate possessor of an excellent cook who is also an excellent artist's model.

I have sampled her cookery and seen her posing. A very graceful tribute to her has been paid by Nadia Benois in the dining room of the South Kensington flat where she lives. Above the service life she has painted the cook's head surrounded with pots and pans and held up by little Cupids.

And Models Become Cooks.

This reminds me that just the opposite has been done by Betty May, one of the best known models in Chelsea, who is very proud of her cooking. For two years she was cook to Epstein [Jacob Epstein] and his family, and sat to Epstein when she could be spared from the kitchen.

She tells me that the Epsteins have always a large family of cats in residence, and that they are all called Peggy-Jean, after Epstein's adored small daughter.
