JOHN BULL London, England 22 June 1929 (page 6)
Britain’s Worst Man.
We wonder what Scotland Yard is going to do about Aleister Crowley, the notorious drug-fiend, who, we learn, has arrived in London, following the order of the boot from the French authority.
Crowley was imprisoned in America during the war; Canada threw him out as being a dangerous and useless member of society; the Italian Government expelled him from Sicily for being the ringleader in bestial ceremonies, which included the celebration of the black Mass.
Since he is a British subject, we cannot deport him. It is a pity, for many a young life has this perverted fiend brought to black ruin and disgrace. |
