Jap Troops Annihilated?
The complete annihilation of a body of Japanese troops by Chinese forces, following the occupation of Hsifengkou by the Japanese, is reported from reliable sources.

One of Marshal Chang Sueh Liang’s last official acts before relinquishing the command of the Chinese Northern Forces was to order the liberation of Reuter’s special correspondent, Mr. Gerald Yorke, who was arrested by Chinese soldiers yesterday.
Mr. Yorke was released early to-day following the order which had been preceded by representations from the British Legation. He arrived safely in Peking this afternoon. |
