£50 for an Author

 

 

Fifty pounds damages were awarded in the Chancery Division in an action brought by Mr. Edward Alexander (Aleister) Crowley, against Mr. Arthur Gordon Gray, a bookseller of Praed-street, Paddington, W., alleging libel in a notice attached to Mr. Crowley’s novel “Moonchild,” saying that a previous novel had been banned, the innuendo being it was improper.
