MR. A. CROWLEY.

APPEAL AGAINST LIBEL ACTION VERDICT.

The grounds on which Mr. Aleister Crowley is appealing against the verdict and judgment against him when he sued Miss Nina Hamnett for libel alleged to have appeared in her book, “Laughing Torso,” were lodged yesterday.

The appeal has been entered for hearing this term.

Mr. Justice Swift and a special jury found in favour of Miss Hamnett after the jury had stopped the case.

Mr. Crowley’s appeal alleges that on a number of grounds the judge misdirected the jury or failed to direct them.
