MR. ALEISTER CROWLEY

Mr. Aleister Crowley, whose recent “Black Magic” libel suit was stopped by the jury, was arrested yesterday in the office of a London solicitor.

He was accused of receiving goods to the value of 7½ d., knowing them to be stolen.

Mr. Crowley was afterwards released on bail of 10. He will appear at Marylebone Police Court today.

The “Daily Express” understands that the charge relates to letters alleged to have been stolen from Miss Betty May, the “Tiger Woman,” who was a principal witness for the defence in Mr. Crowley’s suit for libel against Miss Nina Hamnett and the publishers of her book, “Laughing Torso.”
