ALEISTER CROWLEY

 

Arrested on Charge of Receiving Letters

 

 

Mr. Aleister Crowley, the author, who appeared in a recent High Court action, was yesterday taken into custody by Scotland Yard officers, and charged on a warrant at Marylebone with receiving five letters, the property of Mrs. Sedgwick [Betty May Sedgwick].

 

He will appear before the magistrate at Marylebone police court this morning.

 

After the charge had been preferred against him he was admitted to bail.

 

Among Mr. Crowley’s books is “Moonchild,” which tells of the doings of magicians.
