“BLACK MAGIC” APPEAL
Aleister Crowley, the author, is appealing to the Court of Appeal in the “Black Magic” suit heard in the King’s Bench Division.
He was the unsuccessful plaintiff in a libel action in which he complained that Miss Nina Hamnett, in her book, “Laughing Torso,” suggested that he practiced black magic.
The defendants in the action, Messrs. Constable and Co., Ltd., publishers, and Charles Whittingham and Briggs, printers, and Miss Hamnett will ask the Court of Appeal on Monday for security for costs. |
