ALEISTER CROWLEY’S AFFAIRS.
Case Left in the Hands of Receiver.
The first meeting of creditors under the failure of Edward Alexander Crowley, author, was held at London Bankruptcy Building today.
A receiving order was made against his estate on February 1 on a creditor’s petition.
Mr. E. Parke, senior official receiver, reported that the debtor had stated that he was commonly known as Aleister Crowley, and was an author and psychiatrist, residing at Coventry Street, London.
He roughly estimated his liabilities at £5000, and din to admit insolvency, as he attributed his position to inability to earn money owing to damage to his reputation arising out of a lawsuit.
The assets included a large claim in a pending action against a person [Gerald Yorke] now said to be in Shanghai.
The case was left in the hands of the official receiver. |
