AUTHOR’S AFFAIRS.

A meeting of creditors was held at London Bankruptcy Court to-day under a receiving order made on February 1 against Edward Alexander Crowley, author.

Mr. E. Parke, Senior Official Receiver, said that Crowley, who had stated that he was also a psychiatrist, and was commonly known as Aleister Crowley, estimated his liabilities at £5,000. He did not admit insolvency, and attributed his present position to inability to earn money because of damage to his reputation arising from a lawsuit. His assets comprised a large claim in a pending action against a person [Gerald Yorke] now stated to be abroad.

The affairs were left in the hands of the Official Receiver.
