Aleister Crowley to Pay Dividend.
Last night's London Gazette gave notice of an intended dividend in the affairs of Edward Alexander Crowley, known as Aleister Crowley, the author, but the petitioning creditors have been unable to find his home address or office.
When a receiving order was made against Crowley in 1935 his liabilities were stated to be £4.700.
Crowley came into prominence in 1934 when he sued Miss Nina Hamnett, author of a book called "Laughing Torso," alleging that passages in the book imputed that he practised black magic. He lost the action and his appeal was dismissed. |
