A former London portrait painter, C. Stansfeld Jones [Charles Stansfeld Jones], of Deep Cove, displays at the Art Gallery a number of landscapes and still-life subjects.

The still-life "Bold as Brass" is a fine bit of color, is well composed and rich in quality, "Cinnabar," with emphasis on red and gold colors, has similar qualities.

The landscapes lack the strength and firm handling of design and color of the still-life motifs.
