25 Candidates for 14 Seats Next Thursday.
With unopposed returns in two wards, St. Peter’s and St. Helen’s, eight wards of the borough will see contests by 25 candidates for 14 seats in the municipal elections next Thursday unless there are any withdrawals before polling day. Those of the [...] members, Councillors Mrs. Boyd Alexander, Miss N. Deane, and C. H. Duckworth, have had a “walkover,” and Councillor Duckworth is joined by a new Labour colleague in Mr. Vernon Symonds.
