'Black Magic' Farewell.
Aleister Crowley, black magician calling himself "the wickedest man in the world," was cremated at Brighton yesterday.
Twenty people, including smartly dressed women, stood by as a friend read from Crowley's own "Hymn to Pan" and "Collects from the Gnostic Mass," ending: "There is no law beyond do what thou wilt."
A woman laid carnations on the coffin as it moved to the furnace. |
