Leicester Woman At Crowley's Funeral
When Aleister Crowley, of “black magic” notoriety—self-styled “worst man in the world”—was cremated without religious ceremony, at Brighton, there were 20 mourners, including five women.
Amongst them was Mrs. Hilda Johnson, of Leicester, a pretty young woman, exquisitely dressed in a magnificent fur, who dashed forward to place a bunch of pink carnations on the coffin as it was moving through the tiny gates to the furnace at the crematorium. |
