The Uncertain Element is an anthology of tales of mystery and fantasy by several well-known writers. Among those whose work is represented are William Sansom, Nora Lofts, Pamela Hansford Johnson, Walter de la Mare, Sir Max Beerbohm, Aleister Crowley and Henry James. Included is a “bibliography of the fantastic,” compiled by Anne Cliff, which should whet the appetite of readers.
