FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN

BY CALIFORNIA INDIANS

A nation-wide fund raising campaign to establish scholarships and an industrial education and training program for Indians living on California reservations is to be launched this month by the Indian Welfare Foundation of California.

All directors of the Foundation are Indians, and the president is Grady L. McMurtry, member of the Cherokee tribe.

The main purpose of the campaign is to raise money to rehabilitate some 24,000 Indians who live in remote areas, and under sub-standard conditions. By education they can achieve complete assimilation into economic and industrial life.
