THE SKETCH London, England 12 March 1952 (page 231)
OUR SOCIAL DIARY.
March 2.—Called on Adrian Daintrey to see the collection of drawings he was showing in his Chelsea house. Most of them were already sold; T. S. Eliot bought one . . . . The very first visitor was a cat which popped up through the floorboards like a pantomime demon king, disconcerting Mr. Daintrey, some of whose paintings were to be seen besides the drawings on show. At one time he had a studio which had been used by the late Alastair [sic] Crowley for his nefarious rites. |
