Aleister Crowley, the self-styled “Great Beast” who was also called the most wicked man in the world, has been the subject of a lot of speculative and often ill-informed writing. Mr. Symonds, who knew Crowley and is his literary executor, discusses in this book the man’s claims to be a great magician, a spiritual descendant of Cagliostro and of the Magi of the East. To anyone endowed with limitless patience and credulity it may be interesting.
