Out of Step with Daniel Farson produced a tongue-in-cheek exploration among the witches, of whom there are said to be still 400, male and female, in England. A bearded gentleman addressed as “doctor” denied that they worshipped the Devil (their gods were the old gods of England), or that witches practised sexual orgies at their “covens,” but admitted that when they had a “dinner and dance” they danced in the nude. The rest of this programme was devoted to a little bit of whitewashing of the late Alastair [sic] Crowley. “The Beast,” who enjoyed the description of “the wickedest man in the world.” Well, well!
