Dear Dr. [Berridge],

A man named Crowley keeps writing me for information re: G.D. [Golden Dawn] which I refuse. I know nothing of him, except that I once saw him about seven years ago . Was he admitted to G.D. in Isis [Urania] Temple, or after the split? I hear that Mathers [MacGregor Mathers] made him a dear friend—is he so still, or an enemy? I suppose he took the oath of secrecy like all others, but I am told he does not keep it, and wants to print a book exposing it.

Can you give me any information? Are you and M.[athers] now friendly and what is his address?

Yours truly,

W.W. Westcott
