Correspondence from Aleister Crowley to J.F.C. Fuller

Dear Fuller,

Herewith some rough sketches for robes. Note that it is all one robe—the Neophyte's with additions for each grade; so that the expense is not great, and spread over a long period. The N. [Neophyte] robe is cloth and the additions can be silk; or we could give the option.

I am magically directed to a place called called Terrasin, a holy city; or at least that is the general direction.

You shall have news—and copy for the Official Ordeal paper—as soon as I get it—if I get it.

There is a hell of a lot of mystery about these Orders; it seems as if there were two, an outer and an inner; but running concurrently. E,g, it looks as if one could be a 7º=4o of the AA and yet only a "Man of Earth" of Θελγμχ; or a 1º=10o of AA and a "Hermit of Θελγμχ.

But what is the real difference? They're [illegible], too. The Red is a Thelema symbol; but the colours of those robes are on AA lines.

I hope all will be clear when I return

Wake up your Probationers! I find that of mine only Spare [Austin Osman Spare], Bickers [Horace Sheridan-Bickers], Neuburg [Victor B. Neuburg], Ward [Kenneth Ward], and Truman have robes.

I doubt if you have all the addresses of mine or I would devise an awful and avenging Primitive Circular.

It's as hot as hell here; I'm really happy! We start this P.M. for

and hope to arrive in some 2 to 3 weeks.

Let me find beautifully long letters!

If your brother would like me to bring him things (not from Biskra but from desolate places beyond, where are no tourists) let him send muddy gold, and I'll do my best. Anyway, I'll get varied tom-toms and we'll drive the devil out of Battersea.

Kiss Mrs. Longhorst in her most sensitive spot from me.

Yours ever

Aleister Crowley
