Correspondence from Charles Stansfeld Jones to Aleister Crowley
Box 70. Vancouver. B.C.
Sep 18th 1916 E.V.
Care Frater,
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law,
Just a line to thank you for answering all my questions. There is no fresh news, except that I have just had a letter from Mrs. Havens, showing some slight interest, and saying she would be glad of further literature from time to time. That’s a step in the right direction anyway.
I note the mistakes in ‘Comment’. Those on first page are up to me, but the others are according to your corrected copy. In particular what is the reason you remark ‘change not so much as the style of a letter’ when Liber CCXX gives “Love is the law, love under will.” without the Capitals? I have wondered as a matter of fact why they are used in our greetings on letters etc.
The last paragraph in your letter explains too clearly why She had never written. I understand now.
Love is the Law, Love under Will.
Yours fraternally,
