     To the:—

National Grand Secretary General for the

Federated States of Australia.

GREETINGS!

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

WHEREAS a Circular Manifesto purporting to derive from the O[uter].H[ead of the].O[rder]., Switzerland,[1] has been received by me, and WHEREAS you have also no doubt received a copy thereof, I have much pleasure in forwarding herewith two copies of the reply of the Sovereign Grand Council of this Province for your information. Kindly cause same to be read in open Lodge by all Lodges working under your jurisdiction.

I shall be glad if you will kindly acknowledge receipt of this communication.

Love is the law, love under will.

L. B. YARDLEY VII°. O.T.O.

PATRIARCH GRAND ADMINISTRATOR GENERAL

And SOVEREIGN GRAND SECRETARY GENERAL

Province of South Africa.

1—This would have been the booklet, I.N.R.I. Constitution of the Ancient Order of Oriental Templars, issued by "Merlin, 33° 96° Frater Superior and Outer Head of the O.T.O." (Theodor Reuss: 1855-1923) from Lugano in southern Switzerland in January 1917. The booklet contradicted the Manifesto of the MMM, on a number of points, which is no doubt why Yardley felt the need to repudiate it.
