Care Frater,

93.

We've managed to avert the calamity of Nov. 1—but—it is only postponed till Jan. 1/22. If you can help us out in that respect (about $500 at the present exchange) our credit in Cefalů will once more become good. On the other hand, if you can let us have enough to keep the Abbey [Abbey of Thelema] going for the next few months, we won't need to depend on the credit of the savage Cefalidians.

We've been through all sorts of experiences and privations and as matters stand, we shall, unless you can relieve us, have to go through some more. It wouldn't matter but for the fact that our Work is hindered by those petty (?) (not much!!) worries.

Beast is much better but his insomnia is still very bad. He's been fed up a bit—was entertained for a week by people who came to investigate his work. Now, back to starvation for him!

Jane Wolfe will probably sail for America Dec 15—prepared to do all she can for the Work.

Bennett [Frank Bennett] goes back to Australia in two weeks time—Russell [C. F. Russell] left some time ago.

Bennett has accomplished wonders during his stay here—he is more than satisfied that he took the trip.

Please, please, help us out with some of the cash that is loose in Chicago, so that we can keep up our good work and increase it tenfold.

93     93/93.

Yours fraternally,

Alostrael
