Correspondence from Leah Hirsig to Charles Stansfeld Jones

Care Frater,
93
Your letter of July 4 arrived this morning. I am glad that yours of July 6 to 666 counteracts the rash decisions about sending the books over here.
When I sent the books to you from Mawers, I acted on the instructions of 666 to send all books to you. As you know, I had no knowledge of what you had asked for—in other words, I was not "in it" at that time. As for an inventory, Mawers had simply listed them as packets of books: I am sorry I was so rushed at that time but in any case, it would have meant unpacking them which was out of the question.
The "Rariora list and descriptions arrived about an hour after your letters. Thank you very much for it. It will help the youthful bibliographers.
Please remember that when 666 scolds, he does so because it puts one on one's nettle. It is discouraging at times but his whole method of dealing with people is to make them go one better than they thought they could. It has made him enemies but done them worlds of good. I have told him time and time again that your way is to work steadily and quietly and gradually, and he realizes that this is so. Please continue and remember that we have after all no "I's" to consider but The establishment of the Law, "which is for all."
93 93/93.
Yours fraternally,
Alostrael 31-666-31
P.S. We like you.
