Report on Alostrael's [Leah Hirsig] Health

23 - 31 October 1923

(Alostrael now well enough to sign her own death warrant.)

1. Cough. Practically disappeared, no bad spasms; such as there is very loose and not exhausting.

2. Sleep. Perfectly normal in all respects.

3. Collapse. There was one on Sunday. Immediately administered Elixir. There was an attempt to collapse on Monday but it was neither severe nor prolonged. The Elixir evidently worked admirably and there has been no attempt to repeat it since.

4. Appetite. Normal.

5. Digestion. Now quite perfect.

6. Smoking. All right.

7. Drink. All right.

8. Nursing. Unnecessary.

9. Univ. Med. Shall administer from time to time as requirement seems to indicate.

10. Mental State. Much improved. Occasional attacks of sense of duty—very distressing—but no bad reactions [illegible] physical.

11. Exercise. Easy and enjoyable. Shall probably take her to El Wad for a week—on Murray's [Adam Murray] arrival.

12. Work. Am avoiding making any serious demands but she is interviewing Secret Chiefs etc without bad reactions.

13. Play. She enjoys thoroughly our strolls and chats and evenings in the café where she is the adored centre of an enthusiastic crowd.

General remark. Our mind is quite at ease about her. Nothing whatever is necessary beyond continued treatment hitherto with complete assurance that nothing will be allowed to break up the course.
