Correspondence from Ninette Shumway to Aleister Crowley
[circa February 1924]
My beloved Beast,
Your little card from Moret with its sweet message touched me deeply. I too wish I were with you, sharing your joys and troubles, with our nice babies. I need you so badly! to be able to help you would put new life into me. Think up some way to get us there, think hard. You can't fail to hit upon some idea. I want you to lift me out of the stagnant state I am in. There is nothing here to arouse my enthusiasm; I have neither the time nor books to teach Lulu properly. You must direct me.
I love you very much. I wish I could love you more and inspire you with new strength. But as it is you have my heart whole, you and the babies; may all blessings be poured on you.
Lovingly,
Ninette
