Care Frater,

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

No word from you since yours to Ninette [Ninette Shumway] in which you say "if it is humanly possible" you will come on the next boat. I quite realize that it might not have been humanly possible but why no word from you? The Abbey is waiting for its appointed Abbot, and in the meanwhile, Frater V.L., [Adam Murray] a South African Brother is acting for you. But he may be called to London at any moment.

We have been looking for you, in fact, the champagne has all been drunk. But there will always be a bottle waiting for you. This is a semi-official letter. Please let us hear from you and put your whole being into carrying out your intention to obey the summons of The Beast 666. We are all doing what it seems humanly impossible: the strain has been terrific but with "Go on, go on, in my strength" and the rest of our Holy injunctions, we are getting stronger and stronger all the time.

Ninette has done wonders here. She was alone with the children for four months and it was no easy job. The Beast is in Paris, very ill, and with him is Frater O.P.V. [Norman Mudd], who cannot go on to London as he should because of Beast's illness. Jane [Jane Wolfe] is doing night duty in a Nursing Home in London, and I am trying to put myself into shape to go to Paris to continue my work with The Beast.

Now if you can do nothing else, and I think you can, at least write us at once.

Love is the low, love under will.

With fraternal greetings from all here,

Yours fraternally,

Alostrael 31-666-31
