Correspondence from Marian K. Clark to Otto Kahn

[3 September 1924]

The letter accompanying the enclosure contained a copy of an open letter [An Open Letter to Lord Beaverbrook] from Professor Mudd [Norman Mudd] to Lord Beaverbrook with the subject matter of which you are doubtless familiar. I may speak authoritatively on the falsity of the second accusation contained in the Express article, during the entire period that Sir Aleister passed in this country such an indictment much less a conviction could not under any possibly have escaped my attention in my official position, which brought me into most intimate relations with the Courts as well as the U.S. Department of State in all matters affecting alien residents in the State of New York.
