Stronger and More Potent Conjuration!
Harry F. Marks 31 W 47th St is making enquiries of me about the “Confessions” through his earnest and quick-witted young advisor, Mr Montgomery Evans the Second.
I have written referring him to you. To save time, let me say that they are “rare edition” people, & interested in the big 7-volume scheme. They want to see a volume (printed, I suppose?) and to have 500 prospectuses to mail. They have a very carefully selected list.
They also suggest my approaching T.R. Smith with a duplicate of the MS.
I hope you will push these matters through with all speed. Perhaps it would be best for you to write to Mr. Evan at once. Indeed, I expected to have heard long before this of the sale of the serial rights. These have got to be sold before the big edition comes out.
