Correspondence from Karl Germer to Montgomery Evans

March 21, 1927.

     Dear Mr. Evans,

93,

I am sending you herewith some pages of a letter I just received from Dorothy Olsen

c/o Morrison Hotel

Clark & Madison Sts.

Chicago. Ill.

Of course I don't think we can take any step of such a serious nature without having Beast's consent and he even cannot fully judge the situation. But I think you should be fully informed. I cannot believe that these statements about Schneider's [Max Schneider] price-cutting refers to sales of books of the Chicago Book Stock. Perhaps he sold some private copies of his own. Anyway I am writing him and . . .

P.S. Please avoid showing Schneider that page 5 of Dorothy's letter where she evidently was too influenced by reports she got.

Karl Germer
