Dear Beast,

Thanks for your letter.

I am very sorry that I cannot come out next week.

Persons of my sort cannot suddenly walk out of the ranks and stand at the saluting post very easily and I have to stand by for a bit to consolidate my precarious position. In the main, I am fortunate, plenty of well wishes and few enemies.

I am very sorry to learn that you did not receive the book by Croft that I sent. I am not surprised, as I sent it by book post to the Bankers Trust Co. when you were out of town, and I believe that no care is taken in forwarding such packages by the Postal Authorities.

On Monday next I am posting c/o Bankers Trust Co. a copy of Bax's [Clifford Bax] book—so look out for it.

There is a rumour gone round England that the Gnostic Mass and the rest are regularly said all over Europe (or at least a great part of it) and Turkey—together with the teaching of Liber Legis but without any acknowledgment of your place in the scheme.

Indeed it appears that 666 is living in Lyons. Please to enable me to deal with this at once. Dome Parisian writer apparently is responsible for starting the [illegible] and it were well to kill it.

For the final overcoming of my "inhibitions" I shall be glad if you will answer this question:—

How can I effectually deal with an intruding thought claiming a moral sanction?

"Glory and honour to the Beast."

Neville
