Correspondence from Rosa Reynolds to Kasimira Bass

Saturday morning

October 13th 1928

My very dear Kasimira,

Many many thanks for your dear letter; it brought so much joy and happiness to all of us. Benni [?] thanks you very much for the postal card you sent him—but still more for your kind thoughts which prompted you to do so.

Now dear Kasimira, I am very sorry—but there is a little disappointment in store for you.

I got in touch with Mr. Leiber [?] and told him that you are very desirous in getting the $10,000.00 that in fact, it is absolutely necessary for you to get your money back. He felt very bad that he is not able at present to comply with your wish. Under the present [illegible] conditions there is little hope for you getting your money before a year or so. But you won't have to worry about the monthly % of $75.00. This amount will always be ready and waiting for you. Should conditions here improve Mr. Leiber told me that you will be the very first to get your money. I am sure he feels so bad for not being able to send you your money, as you will when you receive my letter. I will keep constantly at him and in case he should be able to get your money together I will send it at once to you.

I am so thankful to know you are happy and [illegible] hoping sincerely you won't feel too bad when you receive this letter, which must bring so much disappointment to you.

Your friend

Rosa Reynolds
