Returning to Brussels Tuesday 21st [May].

R's [Israel Regardie] latest report is that marriage here is, if not impossible, a matter of months. They want too many papers, mostly inaccessible for weeks or months!

So I shall ask Vice-Consul to apply for a special permit to allow de M [Maria de Miramar] to accompany me to England; on grounds of public morality, I don't see how they can refuse. You might get Nick [Lieutenant Colonel John Carter] to help here.

I don't know about formalities in England, but we could go to the Land of Lakes, where I know the ropes.

I'm really getting bored with this nightmare.

P.S. If King Str is n[o] g[ood] I must find a quiet but distinguished hotel, near the centre]. What are the rates at Brown's and such?
