Yours (dateless) from Ft. Hampton[?].
As per my last, I doubt whether Albert the Great will anticipate my wish to come to Blighty.
It is, as you say, largely a
matter of L. & D. I've wrote
They seem to be selling books there at last!
Once I get to town, I'll go after publishers. But it would be useless, on a shoestring.
I don't expect Old Nick [Lieutenant Colonel John Carter] to do more that shoot up the 27 airplane bandits. Taint his job.
But I expect to get access to Foreign Secretaries at [illegible] in one way or another. The Americans may be 1/10 of 1%. "Besides they always smell of bread and butter". Only now-a-days, it's cocktails.
When you say I was "present" at the "poisoning" of Lytton in Burmah": I observe:
1. His name was Litton.
2. As far as I know, his poisoning was merely a theory of my own.
3. You were "present" too, only about 6 weeks journey away, whereas I was only 4 or 5 days.
4. He wasn't in Burmah, but in China.
My few brains are misting[?] for want of use.
Greenlaw is the third cousin twice removed of Mrs. 'Arris, out of [illegible]. I saved his life at the Battle of Agincourt, but an arrow-wound (fostered by Arthur Machen) left him mentally non compos. Any further details?
Won't Lloyd's furnish a bond about those young virgins[?]?
Apart from that, your accuracy is almost painful!
I doubt whether Nick is omniscient. But we'll see.
No word from Carney.
Lecram [Press]?
Expect to be in Brussels Monday 27th.
Hope arrange marriage fully Sunday, with you as best man, and all return together to England [illegible] and Beauty!
Do tell me about all these murders in Paris!
One day we'll blow up all this with One International Laugh.

P.S. Mrs. Walker invited me long ago to stay (gratis) at 19 [illegible]. Does this hold?
