Dear Sir,

Many thanks for the device, which arrived this morning.

It appears, from an interview with the Civil Register of this city, that the papers must be translated and forwarded by him to the Ministry of Justice at Dresden. As soon as the originals are retuned, I will send them on to you to complete the basis for the London certificate. For the rest we shall rely upon H.B.M. Consul who has been very kind and done all in his power to facilitate this matter.[1]

Yours faithfully,

Edward Alexander Crowley
