Attention of Mr. G. Scattola.

Gentlemen:

Thanks for your letter of the 2nd instant. At the time of my drawing the cheque 200 should have been paid into my account from New York. But by a clerical error they only sent me $200. As in England the bank never informs one as to what has or has not been paid in, I only became aware of the error by an accident.

The mistake was immediately remedied and I wrote to the bank through whom you presented the cheque to represent it, and the bank replied that they were attending to my instructions. I am therefore assuming, unless I hear from you to the contrary, that the cheque has now been paid.

I am lying ill in the country without a telephone so I cannot attend to the matter myself for a few days in any other way. But if you will let me know I will see that it is put right.

Yours truly,

AC / ir [Israel Regardie]
