Gentlemen:

The following is the clause in the contract of the Mandrake Press Ltd, relating to author's contracts:

     "The Vendors will use their best endeavours to transfer to the Purchaser or his assignees the benefit of all existing contracts with authors in the event of the same not being transferable by law."
