Correspondence from Aleister Crowley to Karl Germer

[EXTRACT]

[22 May 1930]

We all here believe in you, and love you. You have never failed us; you are pretty well the most valuable person that we have, and you must not yield to these fits of depression. This (by the way) is one of the reasons I think you ought to have an open car. After doing a couple of hours at 50 mph with the wind blowing in your face the cobwebs disappear. [ . . . ] It is quite evident that Cora [Cora Eaton] is a holy terror, and the only thing you really need to do is to manage not to let her upset you. Now please do not let us down. I expect you here on Tuesday without fail.
