Yours of Nov 1.

That letter is from the twin—This idea lets us out of all holes. Recd cheque for Monster [Hanni Jaeger].

Yours of Oct 31.

Great about Violet—but her husband is more important.

Yes: try to place Little Essays [Little Essays Toward Truth].

Good about Gabriel.

Betty and Ethel. I dunno. My joke: Ethel Mannin (as usual).

A.1. about Cape's nephew. Get him to convince that man who nearly fell for the Confessions [The Confessions of Aleister Crowley] and may be in immediate need of a spectacular move.

This Movie show will go far.

First. You are wrong about my status. Publishers know I'm a serious author. Look at the clippings.

Second. Powell [Anthony Powell] will know at once that I wrote that letter. Contract made with me, of course. You confuse the synopsis—for a yellow Hearst story, written up by you or a journalist—with the book, which is a truthful account of the whole love-story. Do please do what I ask, P.D.Q. and don't argue. I know Powell (Betty May got £500, I hear.)

Third. It won't blow the gaff, because

(a) the twins save us

(b) nobody will say publicly that I am alive

(c) it comes out when I come to life and not before.

Fourth. I don't. The worse it is, the better chance for a big man to bust it. It's a sort of copyright.

Fifth. Collins [the publisher] (at least) knows I'm reliable. But don't see him because of Pessoa's [Fernando Pessoa] book.

Good idea about Abramelin demons!

Shall write Foreman [N. J. N. Foreman].

No money available here yet. Hell!
